The Secret Garden

A whimsical, organized retreat blending soft textures with ethereal light.

The objective for this 9-year-old’s room was to create a space that felt both magical and meticulously tidy. We transitioned the room into a "Secret Garden" theme, prioritizing tactile comfort through floral elements and visual depth through illuminated 3D installations, while solving the practical challenge of childhood clutter.

We anchored the color palette with varying shades of blush and petal pink. Custom-selected floral scatter cushions were layered to provide a soft, inviting reading nook, bringing a sense of the outdoors inside through organic patterns and textures.

Moving beyond flat wall decals, we installed 3D bird models that appear to take flight across the room. To enhance the magical atmosphere, these were intertwined with delicate fairy lights, creating a soft, ambient glow that doubles as a comforting nightlight and a focal art piece.

A major functional requirement was addressing "the things lying around." We integrated bespoke chest storage, designed to be easily accessible for a 9-year-old. This allowed the floor space to remain open for play while ensuring every treasure has a dedicated, out-of-sight home.
